Showers of Blessings is a mobile shower unit trailer and a mobile laundry trailer. The community and sponsors support us by providing food, clothing, haircuts, and dental and medical services. The mobile shower unit has two separate rooms each with a shower, sink and dressing area. It is located at the Fr. Raymond Moore Center at 3256 Madison Avenue, Carlsbad, CA 92008 and is open every Tuesday (except the 5th Tuesday of the month). Towels, soap, shampoo, razors, toothbrushes and toothpaste are available to participants, as well as clothing. Clothing is attractively displayed on tables or hung on racks. Underwear is always purchased new and a recent grant provided 1000 pairs of new socks. Other items of clothing are new or lightly used. All clothing is clean and in good condition. Sleeping bags and other warm accessories are provided during winter months.

Each week, we routinely serve between 60 – 70 men and women. All participants must sign waivers and sign in each week. We keep accurate records of each service provided to the participants.

We have 45 active volunteers from various parts of our community who clean the showers, hand out clothing, give haircuts and help setup each week. We have 30 food donation volunteers who provide food for breakfast and lunchbag take-aways. The shower rooms are cleaned thoroughly, after each use, by our volunteers. The mobile shower unit trailer is shared by St Andrews Episcopal church in Encinitas who provide similar services on Saturdays.
